AWS Virtual Private Cloud (VPC)

Introduction

• Enables you to launch AWS resources into a virtual network
• Resources in this virtual network have direct access to each other without needing to travel over an external network

Usage

• All Elastic Beanstalk and RDS services are located within the “public” VPC
• I honestly cannot remember what I had to change to make this a “public” VPC, I set this up in 2019
• All I remember is that the default VPC settings were blocking external access to our web servers
