Messages

Introduction

The messages API is used for inter-volunteer messaging. This allows for coordinators to contact specific tutors or groups of tutors, and discuss tutor training or allocate individuals to answer questions. It’s functionality may at some point be phased out and replaced by Discord.

Emails

• New tutor message alert
  • Sent out to all users in the thread except the sender
  • Email contains the message and a link to reply
• Unread message alert
  • Sent out to any user who has not read the latest message
  • Only runs once per thread
  • I can’t remember the exact maths that went into the timing of this alert
  • I believe it only sends out once for each thread
