Quizzes

Introduction

RESN Quizzes is one of the two new tutoring services. This service allows students to attempt challenging questions created by our tutoring team, and compare their responses to a pre-written model answer. Additionally, students may seek further assistance with their answer via RESN Help.

Quizzes starts with a tutor adding a question for a particular subject. This includes the question’s content, and whether it is an original question. The tutor should also write a model answer, which will break down all the important points that examiners would be looking for. Both questions and model answers can include photo attachments. Additionally, a quiz question can be edited by any tutor who is approved for that subject. The database saves a list of all users who have contributed to the question, the initial creator, and the last editor.

To publish a quiz question, the tutor needs to tick the “visible” box - however, this will not immediately make the question accessible to students. Any time there is an edit, 2 different tutors need to check the question and its model answer for errors before it is actually visible. This check is designed to prevent errors or inappropriate content from being published to students.

Students will be able to see any visible quizzes for the subjects they have selected. Initially, they can see the question, and meta info like who created it. The model answer should be hidden by default, but can be revealed without needing to submit an answer.
